Newcastle United defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, increasing the pressure on Palace manager Pierre Sage after another disappointing Premier League result.
The Magpies scored twice in 11 second-half minutes to secure their third league victory under manager Matthias Jaissle.
William Osula opened the scoring in the 47th minute, finishing Jacob Murphy’s cross with a first-time effort to give Newcastle the lead.

Harvey Barnes then doubled the visitors’ advantage with a well-taken finish, prompting boos from frustrated Palace supporters.
Goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek helped Newcastle preserve their lead with saves to deny Adam Wharton and substitute Dario Osorio.
Palace had been the better side in a largely uneventful first half and made a lively start, with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Daichi Kamada both attempting to find the net.
However, the hosts struggled after the restart, with Osula marking his first start since the opening weekend of the season by scoring his first goal since May.
The result also ended Newcastle’s six-year wait for a Premier League victory at Selhurst Park. Their previous win at the ground came during Steve Bruce’s tenure as manager.
The defeat added to the mounting pressure on Sage, who is four months into a three-year contract but has now overseen five defeats in eight Premier League matches.
