Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Radda spoke on Wednesday in Katsina while inaugurating members of the Independent Campaign Council (ICC) and unveiling vehicles to support its operations.
He urged the council’s officials and members to work harmoniously with other political groups within the party to achieve its objectives across the state’s 34 local government areas.
The governor called on the council to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates ahead of the elections.
He said the calibre and experience of the council’s members would strengthen its activities and improve grassroots mobilisation.

Radda assured the council of his administration’s continued support and engagement to facilitate the effective discharge of its responsibilities.
Earlier, the Director-General of the ICC in Katsina State, Mr Abubakar Abdullahi-Matazu, said the council had established a five-member structure for each polling unit across the state.
Abdullahi-Matazu explained that each structure comprised three women and two men, an arrangement designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and increase participation in the party’s campaign activities.
He said the council was targeting 600,000 votes for Tinubu, Radda and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Abdullahi-Matazu appealed to the governor for continued support, reaffirming the council’s commitment to supporting his administration.
In his welcome address, the council’s Secretary, Dr Kabir Abdullahi-Yantumaki, highlighted the administration’s achievements in human and infrastructural development since assuming office in 2023.
Abdullahi-Yantumaki described Radda as the APC leader in the state, saying his administration had initiated various development programmes with political, economic and social implications for residents.
He recalled the governor’s political journey to office in 2023 and expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the 2027 general elections.
The secretary added that the administration’s achievements and fulfilled campaign promises would feature prominently in its engagement with voters across the state’s 34 local government areas. (NAN)
