Richarlison scored twice, including a spectacular scissor kick, as Tottenham Hotspur began life under new manager Thomas Frank with a commanding 3-0 victory over newly promoted Burnley.
The Brazilian striker, who netted only four Premier League goals last season, looked rejuvenated as he led the line with confidence and flair. His opener came after just 10 minutes, spinning superbly to fire home following brilliant wing play by £55m summer signing Mohammed Kudus, making his league debut after joining from West Ham.
The pair combined again for Spurs’ second, with Kudus floating in a precise cross that Richarlison acrobatically volleyed into the net — a goal replayed to the delight of fans on the big screens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham’s dominance continued into the second half as Richarlison helped initiate a slick move that ended with Brennan Johnson racing clear and slotting in a third midway through the half.
The home crowd rose to their feet in the 71st minute to applaud Richarlison as he was substituted for Dominic Solanke, who came close to adding a fourth late on.
The win marked a perfect start for former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, who took charge of Spurs in June following the departure of Ange Postecoglou — sacked just 16 days after leading the club to their first trophy in 17 years with a Europa League final win over Manchester United.
With Richarlison back in form and Kudus hitting the ground running, Spurs fans will be hopeful that Frank’s tenure signals the beginning of a new era of success in north London.
