BBNaija Season 10: Ibifubara becomes second Housemate to be evicted

Ibifubara Davies, popularly known simply as Ibifubara, has been evicted from the Big Brother Naija Season 10 reality show, becoming the second housemate to leave the competition this season.

The 28-year-old psychologist from Lagos exited the house after Sunday’s live eviction show, bringing her BBNaija journey to an early close.

Born on July 18, 1997, Ibifubara described herself as a “superstar” who believes every star deserves a platform. Before entering the house, she revealed her motivation for joining the show: “I have always watched people all my life and wondered what it would be like to be the object of focus. I want to show the world that people like me can be fun and live their dreams beyond the limits the world has set for them. What better place to do this than in the Big Brother house?”

A self-proclaimed salad enthusiast, Ibifubara is known for touring Lagos restaurants to sample and rate salads, claiming veggies are her favourite food. “If I don’t find the best salad in Lagos, I just might have to invent it,” she once said.

Single and open to love, she admitted that relationships require intentionality and care. However, she also acknowledged some traits that may irritate others, such as her pedantic nature, boisterous personality, and love for combative (but non-physical) debates.

Reflecting on her life, Ibifubara cited leaving psychology for a stint in tech as one of her lowest points, calling it a “big mistake.” Despite this, she sees herself as resilient and adventurous. “I’m a 10 because you’ll want me around when the apocalypse comes. I am funny, free and fluid in everything I do, I love to explore, and I particularly love a good conversation. I dey talk!” she said.

Her eviction leaves fans curious about how the dynamics in the BBNaija house will shift as the competition heats up.

BBNaija Season 10: Danboskid becomes first Housemate to be evicted

Daniel Olatunji, popularly known as Danboskid, has become the first housemate to be evicted from the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 10 reality show.

The 25-year-old entrepreneur, actor and model from Ekiti State was shown the door after polling the lowest number of votes from viewers.

During his brief stay, Danboskid caught viewers’ attention after getting into a “ship” with fellow housemate Zita, sparking conversations among fans about their budding connection.

Born on April 8, 2000, Danboskid entered the BBNaija house with the hope of showcasing his personality and promoting his brand. “I believe being in the house is an opportunity for me to showcase myself and promote my brand. I’ve been in the entertainment industry for a while now and I believe I have what it takes to make Biggie proud,” he had said before the show began.

A former Mr. Ideal Nigeria winner and 1st runner-up at the Mister Africa International pageant, Danboskid described himself as an expressive, versatile, charismatic and bold individual. He revealed his hidden talent as acting and hoped to use his time in the house to sharpen the skill.

Although single and “not exactly searching,” Danboskid admitted that past heartbreaks had shaped his view on relationships, joking that he might just remain the “cool uncle with different ladies at different events.”

His eviction marks the first exit in what promises to be another drama-filled season of BBNaija.

NDLEA arrests Lagos General Overseer for masterminding cross-border drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Prophet Adefolusho Aanu Olasele, founder and General Overseer of The Turn of Mercy Church, for allegedly masterminding multiple cross-border drug shipments into Nigeria.

Popularly known as Abbas Ajakaiye, the cleric was apprehended on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his church in Okun Ajah, Ogombo Road, Lekki, Lagos. NDLEA operatives reportedly kept watch from morning until the conclusion of the evening service before moving in to arrest him.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the arrest followed months of pursuit after the seizure of two large consignments of Ghana Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, linked to the suspect. The first seizure, weighing 200 kilograms, was made at Okun Ajah beach on June 4, 2025, while another 700 kilograms were recovered from his delivery van on July 6, 2025. Prophet Olasele allegedly admitted transporting the drugs through waterways from Ghana into Nigeria and fleeing to Ghana after evading arrest twice.

In a related operation in Lagos on August 7, NDLEA officers raided an apartment at Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, where they arrested a suspect, Benjamin Udo Ukoh, and recovered 32 pouches of Canadian Loud weighing 15.63 kilograms.

The agency also recorded significant seizures in other states. In Nasarawa, on August 9, operatives recovered 3,093 kilograms of skunk from three suspects — Emmanuel Asoquo Johnny, 51; Okem Raphael, 33; and Chekwube Odo, 25 — in the New Karu area. In Kano, arrests included 29-year-old Nura Yahaya, found with 359 kilograms of skunk; 27-year-old Umar Adamu Umar, caught with nine kilograms of Colorado; and 30-year-old Usman Musa, who was intercepted with 20,000 tramadol pills and 200 diazepam ampoules.

In Gombe, a raid on an uncompleted building in Tudun Wadan Pantami on August 8 led to the recovery of 550,266 tramadol pills, with a suspect, Usama Isah, taken into custody. The following day, Ibrahim Adamu, 23, was arrested along Potiskum road in Bajoga with 50,000 tramadol capsules. In Edo State, NDLEA operatives on August 6 intercepted a white Toyota Hiace bus at Ewu junction, recovering 23,940 tramadol capsules, 1,100 tablets of the same opioid, and 400 ampoules of pentazocine injection. The driver, identified as Taiye Jethro, was arrested.

Meanwhile, the NDLEA continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaign across the country during the past week. Awareness lectures were delivered in schools, worship centres, military formations, workplaces and communities, including Mind City College in Saki, Oyo State; Gwagwarwa Primary School in Nasarawa LGA of Kano State; the Nigerian Army 241 Recce Model Battalion in Nguru, Yobe State; and to members of the Engine Grinders Association in Gboko, Benue State. The Ekiti State command also visited the Nigerian Correctional Service in Ado Ekiti, while the Anambra State command paid a similar advocacy visit to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

Commending the operations, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), praised the officers of the Lagos, Nasarawa, Gombe, Kano and Edo commands for their arrests, seizures and professionalism, urging them to sustain their balanced approach to drug control across the nation.

“I don’t know if the viewers caught this or what, but Sultana peed inside Dede’s box,” Doris said. “We had to unpack the box and hand wash all of Dede’s clothes. I made sure I laundered her clothes and spread them out, but not a single thank you came from Sultana.”

According to Doris, Sultana later admitted the act was deliberate. “She told me, ‘I’m transferring aggression,’” Doris alleged.

The video quickly sparked outrage among BBNaija fans online, with many taking to the comments section to express disbelief and call for action from Big Brother.

BBNaija S10: Jason, Kola accuse Dede of using them for fun

Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemates Jason Jae and Kola have openly accused fellow housemate Dede of manipulating their emotions for entertainment.

The pair, who had previously clashed over their mutual interest in Dede, put aside their differences on Saturday night to discuss what they believed was her calculated move.

Kola, agreeing with Jason, admitted he felt played. “She has achieved what she wanted to achieve. Mehn, I f*cked up!” he lamented.

According to Jason, Dede shifted her attention to Koyin after benefiting from her interactions with both men.

However, Dede has maintained from the beginning that she is not open to romantic relationships in the house, insisting she is already in a happy relationship outside the show.

The confrontation has sparked conversations among fans, with many debating whether Dede was simply playing the game or genuinely misleading her fellow housemates.

9mobile rebrands, changes name to T2

Nigeria’s 9mobile has rebranded itself as T2, aiming to become a digital-first telecom operator focused on innovation and customer experience.

The launch, which was held in Lagos, was attended by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, alongside other industry stakeholders.

The Chief Executive Officer Obafemi Banigbe described the rebranding as a strategic overhaul rather than just a new name.

He said the brand’s transition to T2 goes far beyond a name change; it represents a transformation in how a telecom brand shows up in people’s lives.

“T2 blends the power of connectivity with the vibrancy of lifestyle, creativity, and youth expression, anchoring itself firmly in the culture of now.

“T2’s brand architecture is rooted in four key elements: Fast Connectivity, Smart Lifestyle, Creative Energy, and Trust. Whether powering content creators, remote workers, gamers, artists, entrepreneurs, or everyday hustlers, T2, he said, is determined to be the digital heartbeat of a generation on the rise.

“As Nigeria’s young population continues to lead the continent in innovation, art, fashion, and tech, T2 is setting the stage for a brand renaissance that will mirror their pace, celebrate their identity, and amplify their future.

“This isn’t just a brand relaunch. It’s a movement and Nigeria is invited to live it,” Banigbe said.

Reinforcing the broader importance of this evolution, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister for Digital Economy, counselled the company thus: “Let this rebrand be more than a change of colours or new logo; let it be a renewed commitment to innovation, to service excellence and to the millions of Nigerians whose lives and businesses depend on your network every single day.

“Our government will continue to work with ecosystem players like T2 who are bold enough to invest, agile enough to adapt and visionary enough to see that the future belongs to those who embrace change before it’s forced upon them.”

Adding a state-level perspective, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Secretary to the Lagos State Government, speaking on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described T2’s arrival as timely. “Its mission and cultural positioning align strongly with our digital economy agenda in Lagos—one that fosters creativity, digital entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment. We are excited to see brands like T2 champion this vision with purpose and energy.”

The rebrand follows the 2023 acquisition of 9mobile by Lighthouse Telecoms, under the leadership of business leader and investor, Mr. Thomas Etuh, and a strategic turnaround that has reenergized the company through visionary leadership, bold partnerships, and a deep understanding of today’s digital-first consumers.

These bold moves were followed by the execution of a strategic infrastructure-sharing agreement with MTN Nigeria. This agreement, the first of its kind at scale in the country, has already led to the company significantly expanding its network coverage, capacity, and resilience nationwide.

Adeboye predicts peaceful death after Sunday church service

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has revealed how he believes his life will end, describing it as a peaceful and well-planned transition.

Speaking on Thursday, August 7, during the evening session of the 73rd Annual RCCG Convention at the Old Auditorium, Redemption City, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, the 83-year-old cleric said his departure would come after a joyful Sunday service.

“It’s going to be on a Sunday. I would go to church for service, dance very well, and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go,” Adeboye told the congregation while leading prayers on the theme Possessing Your Possession.

The revered preacher urged members not to question how he knew the timing of his transition, stressing that death does not have to follow illness. He made the remarks while ministering on divine healing, alongside other prayer points on prosperity, fruitfulness, longevity, and victory over the forces of darkness.

Quoting 2 Corinthians 8:9, Adeboye maintained that prosperity is a covenant right for Christians, urging believers to reject poverty, which he described as a tool of the devil to hinder the spread of the gospel.

I know Tinubu’s weaknesses, can defeat him in 2027 – Amaechi

Former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, says he is confident of defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election if he secures the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket.

Speaking during an X Spaces conversation on Saturday, Amaechi declared that he knows Tinubu’s strengths and weaknesses and is certain of victory if given the chance to contest under ADC.

“I’ve not had an election against Tinubu. I know Tinubu very well. I know his strengths. I know his weaknesses. And I know that if allowed to fly the flag of ADC, I will defeat Tinubu for sure,” he said.

The former Rivers State governor stressed that he has never participated in election rigging, challenging any politician to present evidence against him.

“I challenge any politician, living or dead, to come forward and say I was part of rigging. All the appointments given to me by APC to join election planning committees, I refused to participate because I know what they discuss,” Amaechi stated.

He alleged that electoral malpractice often involves state governors and the diversion of public funds through government agencies, promising to end such practices if elected.

Amaechi also admitted that Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, won the 2023 election in Rivers State but claimed the final result announced did not reflect the true outcome.

“I would agree to an extent that Peter Obi won in Rivers State, but unfortunately, the result that came out was different. How it happened, I have no idea,” he said.

Viral ‘Lagos is smelling’ corps member Raye claims NYSC denied her certificate

Youth corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, better known as Raye, has alleged she was denied her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate after completing her service year in Lagos State.

Raye, who gained online attention for a viral video where she described Lagos as “smelling” and criticised President Bola Tinubu’s government, recounted her ordeal in a recent video.

She claimed the Eti-Osa Local Government Inspector (LGI) refused to clear her for April, despite her being present on the scheduled date.

According to her, the LGI repeatedly sent her to the back of the line before eventually seizing her file, refusing to process her clearance, and ordering her to leave.

Although disappointed, Raye said she has decided to move on from the incident, describing her service year in Lagos as “a waste of my time.”

In a post, Corper Raye wrote: “I was contemplating if I should share this or not, but just decided to. After 1 year of moving to another man’s land, to serve my country, ended with no certificate and telling me to come for final verdict that we already know how it’ll end. I genuinely wish I wasn’t a Lagos state Corper because it’s a waste of my time.

“I can’t say moving here was bad but serving here isn’t all pleasure. Just to add to it, they said the reason I’m not getting my certificate is because I didn’t clear myself for the month of April on my scheduled date.

“But what they aren’t saying is how I was present to get cleared, yet the LgI kept asking me to go to the back and when she finally wanted to attend to me she said she won’t clear me.

“She seized my file and told me to get out this is a long story and I don’t mind waking up midnight to tell the story.

“The deep rooted anger I feel and hatred is crazy because I don’t know who to direct it to. But I wish myself the best. And I’m closing this chapter.”
