The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Monday, April 20, as the nationwide exercise continues.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the development, noting that candidates can now access their results through the board’s approved channels.
“The results for Monday, 20th, have been released. Candidates can view their results using the usual process,” he said.
According to the board, candidates are to send “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration to check their scores.
The release is part of JAMB’s phased process since the examination commenced on April 16, with over two million candidates participating in computer-based tests across accredited centres nationwide.
JAMB had earlier released results for candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, as well as a combined batch for those who sat for the tests on Friday and Saturday.
The Friday and Saturday results, however, experienced delays beyond the initial schedule, drawing complaints from candidates. The board later apologised, attributing the delay to the official absence of its chief executive.
The affected results were subsequently released on Sunday, April 19, ahead of the latest batch.
JAMB stated that it will continue to release results in phases as the examination progresses, in line with its established procedures.
The UTME remains a key requirement for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, attracting millions of candidates annually.
