Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has died at the age of 66, bringing to an end a career that spanned more than four decades in Nigeria’s film industry.
His daughter, Kira, confirmed his death during an emotional Instagram Live session on Sunday, days after the family publicly disclosed that the veteran actor was battling Stage 4 cancer.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Yoruba cinema, Ogogo built a lasting legacy as an actor, filmmaker, producer, director and screenwriter.

Although widely known as Ogogo, his birth name was Taiwo Hassan. He earned the nickname through his acting career and became one of the most recognisable faces in Yoruba-language films.

Ogogo was born in Ilaro, Ogun State, on October 31, 1959, according to available biographical records.
3. He began acting in 1981
He started his acting career in 1981 while working outside the entertainment industry before eventually committing to acting full-time.
