How I overcame my leaked s3x tape scandal – Tiwa Savage

Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has spoken candidly about surviving the 2021 leak of her s3x tape, an incident that sparked intense public controversy after she revealed she was being blackmailed over it.

In a recent YouTube interview with Zeze Mills, the award-winning singer described the tape’s release — alongside the death of her father — as the lowest moments of her career.

“My dad died and my s3x tape was released. The only way I could have survived was not to think about it,” Tiwa revealed.

According to her, the key to overcoming the scandal was refusing to dwell on it and focusing instead on gratitude for life and her career.

“Being here on the couch with you is such a blessing. Just the fact that you even want to talk to me, that people still want to hear what I have to say after so many years, feels good. I’ve gone through so much, but have I really enjoyed the moment?” she said.

On her personal life, Tiwa Savage admitted she has never truly experienced romantic love despite her age and past relationships.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. When I look back at my relationships, I realise it wasn’t love — just infatuation. At the time, I thought it was love, even when I was married, but it wasn’t,” she confessed.

The singer’s openness has sparked fresh conversations about resilience, self-worth, and the pressures of fame in the entertainment industry.

Tiwa Savage cuts ties with manager Mekka, issues booking warning

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Tiwa Savage, has officially announced the end of her professional relationship with longtime manager Kemi “Mekka” Akunyili, citing ongoing confusion and unauthorized dealings.

Taking to her Instagram page over the weekend, Tiwa issued a strong warning to fans, promoters, and business partners, stating clearly that she no longer works with Mekka and will not be held liable for any transactions made through him.

“I do not work with Mekka anymore. Please for bookings contact vanessa.amadi@vapr.co.uk. Any bookings that go through any other channel will be void, and you will lose your money,” the award-winning singer wrote.

Tiwa Savage expressed frustration over repeated incidents where bookings meant for her were still being processed through Mekka, despite her earlier notices. She disclosed that she had recently received a call about a promoter paying money into Mekka’s personal account for an upcoming engagement.

“Even if it goes through him and eventually gets to me, I will refuse the booking,” she added. “I’m saying it again for the last time because I will not be responsible for you losing your money.”

Tiwa also explained that she typically avoids addressing personal or business matters publicly, but felt compelled to speak up due to the persistent miscommunication and financial risks involved.

She further directed all future bookings and professional correspondence to her new manager, Vanessa Amadi, at vanessa.amadi@vapr.co.uk.

The announcement marks a significant shift in Tiwa Savage’s team structure as she continues to expand her brand and global presence.
