The Ogun State Government has sealed off properties belonging to former governor and current senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, over alleged contravention of state planning laws.
On Monday, officials of the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority, Sagamu Zonal Office, stormed Asoludero Court, Conference Hotels, and its annex in the Sagamu Government Reserved Area, pasting fresh “Sealing” and “Demolition” notices on the gates and walls of the multi-billion-naira facilities.
The action comes just three days after a “Notice to Quit” was served on the management of the properties, citing breaches of the Ogun State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law No. 61 of 2022.

According to the sealing notice dated August 11, 2025, the properties were shut down due to non-compliance with earlier notices, including orders to produce relevant planning permits within 24 hours. The notice warned that the premises had been “sealed off forthwith preparatory for demolition” and cautioned against breaking or tampering with the seals.
A corresponding demolition notice, also dated August 11, ordered the removal of the alleged contravention within three days or face demolition, with the cost of the exercise to be recovered from the owners.
Reacting to the development, Senator Daniel accused the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun of political persecution, alleging that the targeted buildings were legally constructed long before the enactment of the 2022 planning law.
He described the government’s move as “politically motivated” and a “blatant disregard for due process and the rule of law.”
