
The family of the late media trailblazer, Dr. Doyin Abiola, has confirmed that she will be buried in Lekki, Lagos, following her passing at the age of 82 after a brief illness.
A family source revealed on Wednesday that preparations are already in motion for her burial and requested that all condolence visits be directed to her Ikoyi residence, rather than the more well-known Toyin Street, Ikeja home of her late husband, Chief MKO Abiola.
As of 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the Ikeja residence remained quiet, with no official condolence activities observed at the location.

Dr. Doyin Abiola was widely celebrated as the first female Managing Director and Publisher of the National Concord Newspapers, breaking barriers and blazing a trail for women in Nigeria’s media industry.
She was also the wife of MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of Nigeria’s annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election. Throughout her life, she remained a staunch advocate for press freedom, democratic ideals, and justice.
